Now Mr Mumbles is as big an Apple-fan as the next Converse-wearing new media-whore, but as a brand it’s well ovedue for a Simpsons’ critique. Love the homage inthis clip to Apple’s 1984 commercial and the reaction from an indignant Mapple store manager to Bart for taking the piss out of their founder ‘Steve Mobs’ – “..who dares questions the boss we fired 10 years ago and then brought back?”
ShareThe long awaited [weAREtheIMAGEmakers] issue 17 is finally out featuring interviews and work from artists such as twoone, luke taafe and the master of oriental funk, Drew Funk; who’s fusion of the orient with street sensibilities has certainly added a unique flavour to the corridors of Sydney.
SharePerhaps you should send your suggestions to Shizuo Shinoda. He’s the clever chap who had the idea of using the road as a musical medium. He discovered that careful arrangements of grooves across a road surface would generate various pitches that could simulate a musical tune. His road surfaces have been tuned to play at a cruising speed of 28mph, a great way to encourage slow driving. Unfortunately my driving top 5 usually induces a slight increase in pressure on the accelerator so they mightn’t suit. Gigdoggy also discovered that Honda have sponsored the same idea in California and used the William Tell overture. We should point out that we’ve uncovered an earlier version of the Asphaltophone idea. It was pioneered in 1996 in Denmark by Jakob Freud-Magnus through applying a series of raised disks and bars. If you can read Danish please translate the link.

Doritos through the clever guys at Goodby have produced this spine tingling thriller. Hotel 626 is an online horror game that’s open from 6pm to 6am, so no playing during work hours. It’s got great production values, hasn’t been dumbed down and I genuinely got at least two shivers and produced one little poo in my shorts. It’s already hitting it big time with goth and vampie bloggers around the world. I haven’t made it pass the third level yet but I’ll certainly be checking back in with my comfy blanket again tonight.
